Changing locks or re-keying: which do you need?
Two ways to make sure old keys no longer work. We will tell you honestly which one suits your doors and your budget.
Re-keying your locks
We change the pins inside your existing lock so the old keys stop working and you get a fresh set. The lock body stays on the door. It is usually faster and more affordable, and it is ideal when your locks are in good condition but you want to be sure nobody else has a working key. We can also re-key several doors to open with one key.
Changing (replacing) locks
We remove the old lock and fit new hardware. This is the right choice when a lock is worn, damaged, outdated or simply not secure enough, or when you want to step up to a stronger deadbolt or a keyless entry set. You get brand new locks and new keys built for how you live.

Should I re-key or replace my locks when I move into a new home?

If a lock is worn or you want to upgrade your security, replacing it may be the better option. We will look at what you have and give you an honest recommendation.
How often should I change or check my home locks?
